For a true exterior outswing door in this selection, the National Door Company fiberglass door is the closest match, while the Acrate folding patio door is an outswing-style option for a wider opening. Several other listed doors are explicitly described as inswing models, so they should not be treated as outswing replacements. Check the handing, swing direction, and rough-opening dimensions carefully before ordering.
| Product | Door style | Best suited for |
|---|---|---|
| National Door Company Fiberglass 1/2 Lite | Single prehung; listed as outswing, but details conflict | Buyers checking a conventional entry door |
| Acrate Aluminum Folding Patio Door | Two-panel folding patio door | Wider openings and compact panel storage |
| National Door Company Fiberglass Internal Blinds, 72 x 80 | Double door; inswing | Buyers prioritizing built-in blinds |
| National Door Company Steel Internal Grilles, 72 x 80 | Double door; inswing | Buyers seeking decorative grilles |
| National Door Company Fiberglass Internal Blinds, 64 x 80 | Double door; inswing | Buyers considering a narrower blind-equipped set |
National Door Company Fiberglass Half-Lite Door
This primed fiberglass prehung door has a traditional two-panel design, a half-lite glass section, and a built-in venting screen. The product details describe double-paned, tempered, insulated clear glass; the lower glass panel slides upward from inside to provide ventilation.
Best for: Buyers looking for a single exterior door with glass and an integrated screen. It is the most directly relevant conventional entry-door option because its title identifies it as outswing.
Check before buying: The listing has conflicting information. Its title says 32 x 80 inches and left-hand outswing, while the feature text gives different dimensions and also contains contradictory swing wording. Verify the exact door size, frame size, handing, and swing direction with the seller before ordering.
Acrate Two-Panel Folding Patio Door
This two-panel aluminum folding patio door is listed at 71.5 x 79.5 x 3.5 inches. It has tempered glass inserts, stainless steel rollers, and panels that stack compactly when open. The feature description presents it as an outswing folding door and notes a black powder-coated finish.
Best for: Buyers with a wide patio opening who want folding panels rather than a conventional pair of hinged French doors. The compact stacking design is useful when the panels need to clear more of the opening.
Check before buying: This is a folding patio-door design, not a standard prehung hinged French-door set. Confirm the opening dimensions, installation requirements, and panel-folding direction for the intended space.
National Door Company 72-Inch Blinds Door
This 72 x 80-inch primed, smooth-finish fiberglass exterior prehung door has full-lite glass with white mini blinds sealed between two panes of clear tempered glass. A single operator controls the blinds, and the double-door astragal is released to activate the second door.
Best for: Buyers who want a double-door appearance and adjustable blinds protected between glass panes. The sealed blind unit avoids the need to handle exposed mini blinds.
Important limitation: This model is listed as left-hand inswing, not outswing. Choose it only if an inward swing works for the opening; it is not a direct match for an outswing requirement.
National Door Company Steel Grille Double Door
This 72 x 80-inch primed steel exterior prehung double door has full-lite clear glass with white internal muntins sealed between two panes of tempered glass. The listing gives a privacy rating of zero out of 10, meaning the glazing is not presented as a privacy-focused option. The astragal releases the inactive door.
Best for: Buyers who want a divided-light look without exposed grilles and who prefer a steel door construction. It may suit an entry where clear visibility through the glass is acceptable.
Important limitation: The listing identifies this model as left-hand inswing. It is not appropriate when the door must swing outward. The product is also stated to be unsuitable for commercial use.
National Door Company 64-Inch Blinds Door
This 64 x 80-inch primed fiberglass exterior prehung double door has full-lite glass and internal white mini blinds sealed between two panes of clear tempered glass. The blinds use a single operator, and the second door is activated by releasing the astragal.
Best for: Buyers comparing a narrower double-door option with protected, adjustable blinds. It offers the same stated blind and astragal features as the wider National Door Company option.
Important limitation: This model is listed as right-hand inswing, so it does not meet an outswing specification. The listing also states that the door is not for commercial use.
Buying Guide: How To Choose Exterior Outswing French Doors
How can you confirm the swing direction?
Check the manufacturer’s handing diagram and confirm the view direction used to describe it. “Left-hand” or “right-hand” alone may not tell you whether the door swings in or out. The product details here include conflicting swing descriptions for one model, so request confirmation rather than relying on a single phrase.
What opening measurements matter?
Compare the door slab or nominal size with the complete prehung frame dimensions and the suggested rough opening. Do not assume the listed door size equals the space required in the wall. For a replacement, measure the existing opening and account for the frame and installation clearance.
Should you choose hinged or folding panels?
Hinged French doors suit buyers who want a traditional paired-door format. Folding patio doors use panels that stack when open and can provide a different way to clear a wide opening. Confirm the operating layout and space needed for the panels before choosing between them.
Which glass and privacy features should you compare?
Internal blinds offer adjustable light control while remaining sealed between glass panes. Internal muntins provide a divided-light appearance, but the listed steel model has a zero privacy rating. Clear glass is a poor fit when the entry requires visual privacy unless a separate treatment is planned.
Are these products suitable for commercial projects?
Do not assume so. The National Door Company blind and grille listings explicitly state that the doors are not for commercial use. Review the product’s intended use and applicable project requirements before specifying a door for a business or shared building.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are all five doors outswing models?
No. The Acrate folding patio door is described as an outswing-style option, and one National Door Company listing is titled as outswing but contains conflicting details. The other three National Door Company models are listed as inswing.
Which option is closest to a traditional exterior outswing entry door?
The National Door Company fiberglass half-lite model is the closest conventional entry-door match in this selection, but its size and swing information conflict. Verify the specification before purchase.
Do the National Door Company doors include blinds or grilles?
Two listed fiberglass double-door models include sealed internal blinds. The steel double-door model has sealed internal muntins. These are different features: blinds adjust light, while muntins create a divided-light appearance.
What should I verify before ordering?
Confirm the swing direction, handing, door and frame dimensions, rough-opening requirements, glass or privacy features, and whether the door is intended for residential or commercial use.
